New Jersey Devils vs. Philadelphia Flyers Betting Lines For May 1, 2012

 It’s pretty clear who Martin Brodeur is going to keep his eye on this series, if it wasn’t apparent already. James van Riemsdyk annoyed the New Jersey Devils goaltender all night Sunday and wore him down in Philadelphia’s 4-3 overtime win in Game One.

Despite recovering from a broken foot, Riemsdyk, a former second overall selection, used his big frame to bully Brodeur all night and it paid off in the extra period. Detroit Red Wings vs. Nashville Predators Betting Odds For April 20, 2012

The Detroit Red Wings had the best home record in all of hockey, but that did little to help them against the Nashville Predators. Now they have to bail themselves out on the road in Game Five of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Who saw this coming?

All that talk about a monumental sweep was silenced in powerful fashion as the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the brakes off the Philadelphia Flyers Wednesday night, scoring 10 goals in a Game Four rout on the road.

NHL Stanley Cup Futures Betting Odds Updated For April 16, 2012

The Pittsburgh Penguins and Vancouver Canucks aren’t very good at this favoritism thing. They were favored to win each of their first three playoff games this year. They were favored to win their conferences. Heck, they were even the favorites to hoist the Stanley Cup at the end of the entire NHL postseason.

Yet, here we are, shrugging our shoulders at a considerable collapse in the matter of days, in which the favorites in the east are essentially done. The Penguins are down 3-0 to the Philadelphia Flyers after a miserable week by goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury and Sidney Crosby is already fighting. Continue reading
