Henrik Lundqvist is human after all.

After barely even reaching him in Game 1, the New Jersey Devils scored in each period en route to a 3-2 win in Game 2 and now look to take their first lead when the series returns to New Jersey on Saturday.

Bovada’s Rangers vs. Devils Betting Lines are giving New Jersey a 1 1/2-point edge in Game 3 with a -135 moneyline.

The Devils, frustrated by New York’s stingy defense, altered course in Game 2 to get by Lundqvist. Instead of attacking him directly, the Devils deflected two goals into the net, including David Clarkson’s game-winner with 2:31 left in the third period.

“It’s a very hard building to play in, and 1-1 sounds much better than down 2-0,” Devils captain Zach Parise told ESPN. “We’re happy. We would have liked to have snuck out of here with two wins, but it didn’t happen.

“We’ll take 1-1.”

New York had blocked 26 shots in Game 1, making light work for Lundqvist who needed only to stop 21 shots on goal. New Jersey’s tactics led to only 16 blocks by the Rangers’ defense, and 27 shots on goal.

“That team blocks so many shots,” Clarkson said. “It’s unbelievable how many. I think we found a way to shoot it and get sticks on it, and definitely that was big for us.”

Clarkson now has three goals in the playoffs, all three being game-winners. His last goal was the series clincher against the Philadelphia Flyers.

“Mr. Clutch? I don’t know about that,” Clarkson told ESPN. “I’m going to skate up and down and finish the checks and just bounce off people. It’s just a great feeling to be able to contribute. To get a tip on that felt pretty good.”

The loss only solidified the belief the New York has difficulty stringing good performances in a row. It has only won back-to-back games once this postseason, coming in the first round against the Ottawa Senators. They traded blows with the Washington Capitals in round two, needing all seven games to win, and their 16 games so far is more than any team remaining.

On a positive note, the Rangers scored a power play goal for the second-straight game after conversion percentage of just 16.4.
