Washington Capitals vs. New York Rangers Game 5 Betting Lines

The Washington Capitals only allowed 20 shots to get to young goaltender Braden Holtby. The rest were fended off by their defensemen, deflecting the other 26 shots the New York Rangers sent towards the net.

It’s a little easier to win that way. The Capitals frustrated the Rangers all night Saturday, evening the series at 2-apiece with a 3-2 win. Phoenix Coyotes vs. Nashville Predators Game 4 Betting Lines

The Nashville Predators handled this controversy thing about as well as head coach Barry Trotz could’ve wanted them to. With two of their top players suspended for violating team rules, the Predators strung together and came up with a huge win at home in Game 3 Wednesday night.

So much for that super tandem of Brian Elliot and Jaroslav Halak.

It hasn’t seemed to work out for the St. Louis Blues so far in Round 2 of the Stanley Cup playoffs. The team is hoping their goaltenders fare better on the road as the Blues face the Los Angeles Kings in Game Three Thursday night.

All that worry about Ilya Kovalchuck didn’t seem to stop the New Jersey Devils in Game 2. Missing one of their best offensive players, New Jersey still managed to swing back at the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday, evening the series with a 4-1 victory on the road.

Phoenix Coyotes vs. Nashville Predators Game Three Betting Lines

Things went from ecstatic to miserable in about five days for the Nashville Predators. Just a week after beating the Detroit Red Wings in impressive fashion, the Predators are looking up from a 2-0 hole against the Phoenix Coyotes, and will have to climb out without the services of their two top forwards.

Andrei Kostitsyn and Alexander Radulov were apparently caught out at 4 a.m. after Game 2 of the Western Conference semis. Nashville general manager David Poile wasn’t happy and suspended the pair for violation of team rules. Continue reading →

Former MVP Alex Ovechkin may not being seeing the ice much these days, but the Washington Capitals look like they don’t need him to.

Despite getting just 13 1/2 minutes in during Monday’s Game 2, Ovechkin’s team eeked by the New York Rangers on the road and look to have the momentum as the series shifts back to Washington.

The Los Angeles Kings slayed the Presidents Cup winner in the first round. They’re pounding the St. Louis Blues in the second round with a tough physical style that many thought the Blues would use against them.

 It’s pretty clear who Martin Brodeur is going to keep his eye on this series, if it wasn’t apparent already. James van Riemsdyk annoyed the New Jersey Devils goaltender all night Sunday and wore him down in Philadelphia’s 4-3 overtime win in Game One.

Despite recovering from a broken foot, Riemsdyk, a former second overall selection, used his big frame to bully Brodeur all night and it paid off in the extra period.
